Here at Glascote Basin, we have a craning day once every 3 weeks on average. We partner with two of the best in the business: A B Tuckey with their 110-ton mobile crane and fully trained banksmen; and Ray Bowern Boat Transport and Cranage. Both have a wealth of experience and good relationships with boatyards and marinas across the country.

At our Glascote Basin site on the Coventry Canal we have a purpose built dry dock that can accommodate narrowboats up to 72ft and sufficient depth for deeper draughted boats.

We ensure that all boats that are out for blacking are on the dock for at least 6 days to allow adequate time for paint to cure. We reserve Mondays for surveys to be undertaken and emergancy repairs.

We have been grit blasting the hull and superstructure of our boats for over 20 years, the boats that we grit blasted all those years ago often turn up at the yard. From our observations of the hull and superstructures, these boats are always in excellent condition and goes to show how important this process is to protecting the steelwork of your boat.

Norton Canes Boatbuilders specialise in painting Narrowboats to the highest standard using quality materials and paint to create a long lasting finish.

Unless otherwise requested by the customer all re-paints take the boat back to full bare metal above the gunwales, with all windows, ports, vents and accessories removed.
