At Norton Canes Boatbuilders we have the facilities and equipment to offer a wide range of Boatyard Services, a detailed summary of those services can be found in the articles below.

At our Glascote Basin site on the Coventry Canal we have a purpose built dry dock that can accommodate narrowboats up to 72ft and sufficient depth for deeper draughted boats.

We ensure that all boats that are out for blacking are on the dock for at least 6 days to allow adequate time for paint to cure. We reserve Mondays for surveys to be undertaken and emergancy repairs.

Glascote Fender Makers is operated by Norton Canes Boatbuilders and headed up by fender maker Phil English. We specialise in hand made marine rope fenders, mooring lines, ropes, chain and shackles for Narrowboats. Only the highest quality materials are used in the construction of all fenders and attention to detail is paramount.

Glascote Fender Makers operates from its new base at Glascote Basin Boatyard (previously based in Bamford Street, Glascote) making bespoke ropework and fenders with fitting available if locally moored.

About Phil English

He also promotes the craft of fender-making by teaching the craft and doing demonstrations at various events, past ones include the Braunston Historic Boat Rally, The International Guild of Knot Tyers Annual General Meeting and for the Crick Historical Society.
